Experiencing an Organ Transplant

Organ transplantation is a procedure and treatment for increasing numbers of patients today but the process remains high risk.  After experiencing diabetes for nearly 40 years and kidney failure for 14 years, Belinda underwent a simultaneous kidney pancreas transplant in 2009 at the University of Maryland.

The beneficiary of a Modern Medical Miracle, Belinda will share her “Transplant Story”, including some tragic and hilarious moments in her struggle to regain her health.  She will relate many facets of the transplant experience including some not widely known.

Having demonstrated unusual ability and knowledge in managing her own disease and post-operative survival, her doctors were so impressed they frequently have referred other patients to her for assistance.  This was the beginning of her wellness coaching business.

Belinda and her husband currently live in the Sarasota area where she is a member of the Rotary Club of Siesta Key.
